Our Mission
Thank you all for supporting the Resale Shop the last two years. Unfortunately, we will be closing down for a season because the Hobart Nazarene Church is moving back into the building. Please read the letter below from Executive Director, Eric Wood.
Hey everyone, we have a bittersweet update. For the past 3 years, the Hobart Nazarene Church has been taking a break, re-organizing, and making plans to re-launch the church in Hobart. That time has now come and we are excited to announce that the church will begin hosting services and church activities again on Easter Sunday 2025 (April 20).
After a thorough search and many great conversations with city officials, it has been decided that the church will move back into their building on 1 W. Old Ridge where the Hope Center Resale Shop has been operating. With the Easter 2025 goal, the church will need to begin a remodel process at the beginning of 2025.
The resale shop will need to take a break. We plan to keep our eyes and ears open to future possibilities of ways to serve the community through a resale shop, but at this time we will be winding down our operations through November and December 2024. There will still be Hope Center ministry programs (not the resale shop) that will continue to operate out of the current building in partnership with the church. Stay tuned for some exciting things coming!
We need to sell EVERYTHING! Starting this Saturday, November 16, all items in the store will be 75% off. We will plan to operate weekly until Saturday, December 21; however, it could be earlier based on what kind of inventory remains.
Like I said upfront, this is bittersweet! We are so excited for the church to re-launch, serve the Hobart community, and help people take their next step in their relationship with Jesus. We hope that if you are looking for a church home that you would consider checking out the Hobart Nazarene Church. I know Pastor Luis and his wife Judy would love the opportunity to meet you. We are thankful for the opportunity for the Resale Shop to be able to use the building these past 2 years to serve the community.
Finally, I want to say THANK YOU to you. It has been both a joy and a blessing to meet so many great people from Hobart and all around Northwest Indiana. Thank you for supporting the resale shop so that the Hope Center can continue to help people all across the region. We have had a great group of volunteers that have faithfully and selflessly served on Thursdays and Saturdays the past couple years.
Sincerely,
Eric Wood
